Activator/WS is a hardware-based anti-piracy device. Developers integrateActivator/WS into their software by linking highly secure modules from alibrary supplied by Software Security, Inc.Users merely connect the key supplied with the application package to adedicated serial port. Activator/WS can be daisychained if multipleprotected packages are in use. Software protected by Activator/WS willnot run unless the device is connected. However, its presence does notimpact the software or the operation of the computer.In addition to the security codes and unique customer ID's that areassigned by Software Security, Activator/WS contains nonvolatile memorythat can be used to perform various operations.
